Heartbeat of Housing

“I’m Michelle Voke, President & CEO of the American Association of Service Coordinators, and this is Heartbeat of Housing, where we share the stories of those working to keep residents in affordable housing healthy, happy, and housed!”

More than 10 million Americans live in affordable housing communities throughout the United States. The older adults, families, persons with disabilities, and veterans who live in these communities are often under-resourced, lack access to transportation, need assistance applying for benefits, and have critical health challenges.

That's where Service Coordinators come in.

They assess resident needs and challenges, arrange necessary services, apply for benefits, link with community resources, and build community among the neighbors to ease social isolation and advocate for what residents need to have a better quality of life.

This podcast is about their stories - the stories of these Heartbeats of Housing, working to keep the residents they care for all healthy, happy, and housed.

Join us each month as we highlight a Service Coordinator doing the work in communities just like yours and hear about the joys and the challenges they face working in affordable housing - and learn with the rest of us about how we can all support the needs of this growing population.

New episodes drop the first Wednesday of each month! Are you interested in being on Heartbeat of Housing? Email AASC's Senior Director of Marketing, Communication, and Public Affairs Ross Goldsmith at rgoldsmith@servicecoordinator.org today!
